

The Institute of Labour and Social Studies in Warsaw (ILSS) is a scientific research centre which approaches the problems of labour and social policy in an interdisciplinarymanner. Among the research areas of ILSS one can enumerate:
- analyses of the labour market and effectiveness of social and labour market policy instruments,
- forecasts of labour supply and demand,
- studies on migration processes, employment of foreigners, social system of labour, HRM, motivational systems, labour and social insurance issues and social economy.
ILSS consists of the following organisational units: The Social Policy Research Division is a unit conducting scientific work focused on comparative and problem analyses concerning various aspects of organisation and functioning of social security systems. The Employment and Labour Market Division conducts scientific and research activity in the field of employment and labour market. The team of the ELMD carries out research projects of regional, national and international level. The ILSS Training Centre offers training in social economics, labour law, vocational education didactics, labour market analysis, etc. These trainings are addressed to specialists in central and local government units. The Centre for Econometric Modelling of the ILSS collects and builds integrated databases containing data on various aspects of socio-economic life, in particular from the point of view of modelling social processes and the labour market, building and developing the infrastructure of econometric models and conducting simulation analyses and preparing forecasts. The Big Data centre collects and processes datasets, conducts analyses of job vacancies, develops a national map of labour demand and develops thematic expertise.
